I am a sucker for all things shabby chic. Lately, I’ve been eyeing a few gorgeous vintage hair pieces on Etsy with beautifully crafted shabby chic fabric flowers. Check out this vintage flower headband by sugarbugboutiquebows! My new Shine On Blog needed a DIY project and I’ve wanted to learn how to make these shabby chic fabric roses for some time now so I took a crack at it yesterday. Here’s how mine turned out.
It’s simple, but could certainly be dressed up with feathers, beads, additional flowers and added to a lace headband. You could use several of these as decoration for pillows, towels, gifts or even Valentines! I used fabric I had laying around the house; however, it probably wasn’t the best idea to start with thick, home décor fabric. I’ll remember that next time.
I can’t say I came up with this all by myself. I had some help from Nicole at Create and Delegate. She has a great tutorial for these shabby chic fabric flowers that is full of pictures and tips. Instead of reinventing the wheel, I am going to send you to her blog for instructions. Good luck and please post pictures of your shabby chic fabric flowers at our Facebook Fan Page! Can’t wait to see your creations!
