Over the past few weeks my husband and I have been knee deep in samples of tile, flooring, paint chips and fabric as we have been making remodel decisions about our home. Thankfully, we have talented family and friends to help with our home decorating.
My brother will be here in less than two weeks. I am so excited! He is a talented wood worker/contractor and has worked for my father’s construction business for many years. My father is having a fairly complicated surgery in March so my brother will have a few weeks off of work. My husband and I took advantage of this time off and suggested he come work for us for a few weeks.
As soon as I heard my brother was coming, I contacted an interior decorator friend of mine, Deirdre of Deirdre Desrosiers Interiors, to help organize all of my creative thoughts for one of our home decorating projects, the living room. She has been such a help and I absolutely love running my ideas, photos and thoughts by her. She even sent me 3D images of my living room with furniture, colors and decorating ideas. It really helped me truly visualize the space and helped move me forward. Here is her inspiration board:
We have owned our home for two years now and have had limited time to truly make our house our home. Now I will not only have an extended visit with my brother, but we will be able add personality to our house. Our goal is to remodel the living room and kitchen and add touches of character to the master bedroom and bath. Photos of our progress are coming soon!
