Have you ever wanted to just get away from it all? Find a quiet, peaceful location just for you? There is such a place! The Oasis Suites, on the Nags Head Causeway of the Outer Banks, is a boutique hotel with luxurious rooms all overlooking the water. They have rooms for families, executives and romantics!
After our wedding at the Marshes Lighthouse in Manteo, we spent the night in the honeymoon suite at Oasis. It is a beautiful three room suite featuring a kitchenette, fireplace, balcony, jet spa tub, two person shower and a king sized bed. It is so quiet you feel you are the only ones in the hotel. We loved this suite so much we went back this past weekend to celebrate our first anniversary.
Oasis Suites check in is after 3:00pm, which isn’t too terribly late as there is plenty to do and see in the Outer Banks area. If you want to surprise your sweetheart with an in-suite couple’s massage, roses or champagne upon arrival, the staff can easily arrange those services for you. There is also a private outdoor pool and hot tub. There are workout facilities on the premises as well, but I found the exercise room to be lacking in equipment and space. However, if you are an outdoor enthusiast or just wanting to relax, you can exercise on the beach or enjoy the view from your balcony. In the morning, you will find coffee and pre-wrapped Danishes for breakfast. Make sure to bring your own coffee creamer as the hotel no longer offers any. If you find the breakfast and coffee options lacking, there are a few great cafes a few miles away in Manteo. Checkout time is at 11:00am, which gives you just enough time to get up late, have breakfast and enjoy the sunrise from your balcony.
For brides looking for a small, intimate venue for their wedding ceremony, consider Oasis Suites. Their “For Now and Forever” package is $2,699 and includes:
- Decorated gazebo overlooking the Roanoke Sound
- Officiate
- Bridal bouquet and Groom boutonniere
- 2 night lodging
- Champagne or Sparkling Cider
- Fruit/Cheese Tray
- 4 hour shuttle for 14 passengers to and from your restaurant destination
Make sure to book the honeymoon suite many months in advance as brides return year after year to celebrate their anniversaries. If you need a florist for your wedding party’s bouquets and boutonnieres, I would highly recommend The Embellishers. They did an amazing job on my flowers and Brenda and Gail are the two sweetest ladies in the Outer Banks. They will bring your flowers to your door!
If you are headed to the Outer Banks for vacation, a romantic getaway or a wedding and want to stay somewhere away from the beach activities and tourist noise, Oasis Suites is the place for you.
