I was so excited about sharing my sneak peek from Terri's Cottage Chic Maternity Shoot that I almost forgot to design her maternity series pages for her album! Terri's sweet mama is here visiting for the month and we are hoping not to miss too many of Terri's final weeks of pregnancy. With her last few weeks, we are trying to be as creative as possible. If you could have your very own maternity series, what themes, props and locations would you incorporate into yours?
On a side note, I have been shouting with excitement to all my social media friends that I am making the journey back to New England next week. I am crazy excited. Fall in New England is breathtaking. I am actually going to be one of those so-called "leaf peepers" or leef-peep-ahs as it is pronounced by my northern friends and family. The camera will be coming everywhere with me! Be prepared to be bombarded with photographs of the White Mountains, Lake Winnipesaukee, the ocean and historical seacoast towns upon my return.
Absolutely LOVED this cottage chic maternity session with Terri! We stepped away from the white backdrop this week and decided to be a bit more creative. I usually lean towards outdoor portrait sessions, but really felt a feminine, chic indoor pregnancy shoot would be a much more relaxed setting…especially in this late summer Virginia Beach heat!
I adore Terri's off-the-shoulder sweater and leg warmers! Makes me anxious for the fall. Speaking of fall, it's also Labor Day weekend!! So excited for a long weekend with friends and family. I hope everyone has a safe time this weekend enjoying the last bit of summer vacation. Stay cool!
Week 26 of Terri's Maternity Series and we are getting closer and closer to meeting her sweet little girl! This week we were having such a good time with the theme of her portraits, baking, that we made it into a mini photo shoot. I absolutely love incorporating props, especially vintage ones, into my client's portraits. As soon as Terri rang the doorbell, with Cafe Moka Iced Tea in hand, we scoured the kitchen for the perfect cook books, pans and dish towels.
Terri chose a great outfit for her maternity series this week. Her black, cotton shirt and leggings showed off her bump beautifully AND check out her shoes! So sassy!
Maternity Series: Week 26
Terri recently visited Cafe Moka in Virginia Beach for the first time and fell in love with their cupcakes. Featured here is their crunchy chocolate chip cupcake.
If any of you are eyeing her necklace, which I was the whole night, it is from J.Crew. This pretty mama found it on Ebay for a fantastic deal!
Terri came back after a month to update her maternity series. She has quite the bump now! It was so nice to catch up with her and hear all the details about her little girl's room. It's going to be so beautiful, I might just want to visit her and stay for a while!
Maternity Series Week 25
The BIG week is finally here! Terri has heard every old wives' tale and prediction for the past 20 weeks and this week she finally has her answer. She is going to have a baby girl! With two little boys at home and a house full of skateboards, drum sets and Toy Story Paraphernalia, Terri needs a bit more "pink" in her life.
In preparation for this shoot, Terri stopped by the store to pick out a few girl's clothes before heading over to my "studio". It wasn't long before I had a phone call from Terri explaining how she lost track of time looking through all the pretty girly things at Target. I am so happy for her and I can't wait to see how fashionable her little girl is going to be!
Week 19-20 Maternity Series: Gender Reveal
I can't believe three weeks have gone by since I last photographed Terri! Life was quite busy for the two of us as I was off in Jamaica for vacation and Terri was in Orlando for The Gospel Coalition Women's Conference of 2012. We are both back for the summer and hoping things do not get too crazy so we can meet weekly and capture Terri's bump…that is just starting to show!
I absolutely adore my weekly meetings with Terri. Sweet conversation over cookies with a little photography fun added in makes for a great time of fellowship and friendship.
